RaceRender enables you to create videos that make use of picture-in-picture overlays, split-screens, camera switching, transparencies, and many other options. Unlike common video editing software, RaceRender is a video processor that is designed to easily and efficiently mix multiple concurrent video and audio sources. It was originally created to produce fast-paced motorsports video from multiple cameras without requiring expensive video processing hardware, and it has since evolved to become useful for a wide variety of other purposes as well.System RequirementsMicrosoft Windows 2000 SP4*1, XP, Vista, or Windows 71.5 GHz or faster CPU*2 (AMD Athlon XP / Intel Pentium 4)128 MB of available RAM; typically 512+ MB total on Windows 2000 and XP, or 1+ GB on Vista and Windows 71024x768 or larger screen resolution, 32-bit colorWindows Media Player 9 or newerQuickTime 7 or newer (needed for the use of QuickTime, MPEG-4, and several other media formats)Xvid codec is recommended if creating AVI video files with RaceRenderThe "ffdshow tryouts" codec package may help if you are missing AVI video codecs (install it with the "VFW interface" option enabled)*1 Windows 2000 may have difficulty with high-definition Windows Media files, as this is not officially supported by Microsoft. The latest release of QuickTime 7 does not support Windows 2000, so you may need to use an older release, such as QuickTime 7.1.6*2 These are the recommended minimum system specifications for working with DVD quality (480p / 720x480) and smaller video; high-definition video and/or certain codecs will have higher requirements. Actual performance is largely dependent on the codecs and bitrates of the media files that you are working with. This software will also theoretically run on much older processors, but this is not recommended, and performance is expected to be poor with modern video codecs. Future releases may or may not retain that level of compatibility.
