Export and Importing enables you to copy address records to or from your ENTABAN program to another address book, this means for example, that you could synchronise your address book list at work with the address book copy you have at home. The Import facility works in conjunction with the Export facility. When you Export, you create a file with the address records you wish to transfer. Import, reads an exported address book file and then adds these address records to the existing ones in your book. To open the IMPORT Dialogue click the "Options" button under the ENTABAN control button group, then click the "Import" button. Once the Import Dialogue is open, you may re-position it on-screen by clicking and dragging any of its edges, but you cant flip between it and the main program as you can with the Find Dialogue. There are two separate types of file that ENTABAN can use to Import or Export address record to. The first is an ENTABAN Address Book File (.eab). This can only be used between two ENTABAN programs (Version 2.0 or later). The second type of file is a Comma Separated Value file (.csv). This is a generic type of file which may be used to copy address records to and from any other address book program that supports this format, including the Windows Address Book (WAB). Before you can transfer addresses from your Windows Address Book (WAB), you will first need to create an export (.csv) file, from which you can then Import your address records into ENTABAN. To do this, open the Windows Address Book. It should be accessible from the "Start" menu of your Desktop, although its the address book thats used with, and also accessed through other Microsoft programs like Outlook Express. The default menu location from the Desktop will be something like: "Start > All Programs > Accessories". Alternatively you could open it from the "Tools" menu of Outlook Express, or just type "wab" from the Run Dialogue.
